I'd avoid waxing your balls as well as your shaft. The skin down there is way too thin and sensitive. Try and carefully trim all your hair first with scissors. Then get in a hot shower and shaving cream and a quality razor and get the rest. I'd advise you to leave a little public hair above your landing strip. No hair is hard maintenance.
